Daisy is a 4-year-old Thoroughbred and is a surrogate for our new mare Canequin Reach for the Stars…aka…Pocket.  We feel incredibly lucky to have two foals coming for 2014 from the cross Dragonfire Kirin x Pocket. Daisy will carry one and Pocket the other.   When Daisy arrived she was a little apprehensive but soon settled in and met Pocket.  Eventually they will share a pasture.  Both are due in June.  Here are the photos of her arrival at Merriewold:

 

 

 

Merriewold had two horses competing at the Santa Barbara show this year, Kirin and Legacy. Both are in Dressage Training with Alejandro Salazar at Rancho Pura Vida.  Kirin started her show year at First level and has qualified for the CDS year end Championship.

Legacy has been to 2 shows at Training Level and has earned very high points and the High Point Award at The Santa Barbara show.

Abby Manzano also rode Kirin in Hunter hack and Hunter Pleasure Classes as an Amateur, Junior Exhibitor.

All in all it was a very nice show!

Dina is our buckskin yearling filly by MEMC Tequila Cuervo.  She is sweet, smart and a little shy.  Here are the latest photos.
