Hanah (Lynohil Quasar x Moonsets Reflection) and Hero (Bethesda Carbon Copy x MJVM Serena)are three years old and beginning their formal training.Â Both have had extensive ground trainingÂ with Jackie Brittain andÂ are ready to start the ‘under saddle’ phase.Â Hanah will go to Jennifer Mc Fall at Dragonfire Farm in early November.Â Hero was startedÂ under saddle with Jaime Hernandez and now JackieÂ is continuing his training.

Merriewold GalaxieÂ (Iron Forge Starman x Ringbrook Renaissance) four year old chestnut mare, went to her second show in August.Â It was open, USEF and USDF rated.Â SheÂ competed inÂ two classes, Training level 2 and 4.Â Here are some comments from trainer Sally Anderson:

“Gal was so well behaved at the show!Â Ashley, my 6 year old daughter, brushed her and led her around all day.Â Her first test was training level test 2.Â She was first place out of 9 with a score of 68%.Â The next best was a 56%.Â At this show she definitely had the hang of being a show horse as she didn’t shy at anything and was an angel.”

Caduceus MarikaÂ (Patchett Hill x Caduceus Exira) is having her fifth foal for Merriewold in 2009.Â This foal is by the Multi-World Champion, Gulfwind Sir William(Trebles Willy Wild x Gulfwind Dawn Command).Â Marika’s surrogate is a nearly 17 hand thoroughbred mare named Tuscany.

Marika’sÂ first foal for us was Merriewold Java by Dragonfire Kirin(Cedar City Penbrook x Dragonfire Chi Lin).Â Java is now a yearling.Â He has a gorgeous ‘Morgan’ head, is nicely put together and is extremely sweet.Â

This yearÂ Marika had three foals all by RG Stuart’s Monarch (Fun Quest Monarch x Tretton Lady Midnight D).Â Merriewold Kona, Merriewold Kirin and Merriewold Kasey.Â These three foals are big and typyÂ with good boneÂ andÂ strong sport horse pedigrees from the Funquest, Brunk and CaduceusÂ breeding programs.Â
