Sierra is now 10 days post weaning and with the help of her friends Tessa and Quito, she is doing great!  In the mornings they march in together and have adjoining stalls.  After grooming (and training for T and Q)  they all go out together.  We are very lucky that Sierra is an independent and confident little peanut.

Weaning is a happy, sad and stressful time for everyone.  Happy for us because we know the babies are growing up and are strong and healthy.  Sad, because the mare and foal bond is a deep and beautiful connection that has to be separated  This year we had only one baby so Sierra had to go it alone.  But she has her friends, Tessa and Quito in the next pasture.  Pocket went to Polly Rich for a preg check, and to chill out for a few weeks.  Photos are from the day of, and two days later.  Sierra did really well and has settled into her new situation.  She comes in and is groomed and goes out on her own with good manners.  She is a big girl now!

Merriewold Quintessa is 2 years old and starting her ground training with Jackie. Â She is bold and sweet with athletic conformation and gaits. Â Tessa will make a wonderful sport horse and pleasure horse.

Merriewold Sierra ( Rosevale Leggo x Canequin Reach for the Stars) at five months old. 9-2016
We really like this filly! She has long legs, lovely gaits, a really pretty head with large kind eyes and a super sweet disposition.
Normally when we let Pocket and Sierra out into the big pasture Sierra runs, bucks and plays for over 10 minutes…well I was ready but they just ran away….. (typical… ;>)) Â I hope to get a better video in a month. Stay tuned!
